Coinbase, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange with over 56 million users, needed to comply with Singapore's Payment Services Act (PSA) introduced in 2020 by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Facing challenges with localised policies and limited in-house compliance resources, Coinbase engaged us to support their PSA licensing process.

Over two months, we worked with Coinbase's legal, compliance, and security leaders to align global policies with MAS requirements. We advised on technology risks, tailored service-level agreements, and ensured PSA applicability for cryptocurrency exchanges. Our expertise enabled Coinbase to confidently submit their application and address MAS queries while enhancing their security framework for future compliance.
